Uber has lost its London licence, Transport for London has confirmed.
TfL has informed Uber London Limited that it will not be issued with a private hire operator licence when its current licence expires on September 30, with TfL saying the company is "not fit and proper" to hold the licence.
However, Uber can continue operating while it appeals the decision and has "exhausted" any appeal processes.
"TfL considers that Uber's approach and conduct demonstrate a lack of corporate responsibility in relation to a number of issues which have potential public safety and security implications," TfL said in a statement.
