Roll up, roll up – The Thick of It creator Armando Iannucci is reviving his foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcolm Tucker for a debate against Alan Partridge.

The two comedy characters, which he both co-created, will go head-to-head as they discuss Brexit for Iannucci's stint guest editing The Big Issue.

"I'm Guest Editor of next week's @BigIssue . Featuring a 4-page debate between Alan Partridge and Malcolm Tucker on Brexit," the writer revealed on Twitter.

If that wasn't enough, the issue will also feature Iannucci and John Oliver talking about President Donald Trump, so it's safe to say we'll be picking up a copy.

Partridge, meanwhile, has a busy year ahead as he has been given a brand new series on BBC One, and is set to be the face of Brexit.

But while we would absolutely love a revival of The Thick of It, which ended in 2012, Iannucci has ruled out a return because of today's political landscape.

"I now find the political landscape so alien and awful that it's hard to match the waves of cynicism it transmits on its own," he wrote in the New Statesman last year.

"Fiction is winning out because fact is no longer making sense," he added.

The Veep creator is also readying his next big project, the movie The Death of Stalin, which follows the power struggle following the death of the Soviet dictator.

The movie has a stellar cast, with the likes of Rupert Friend, Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor, Olga Kurylenko, Jason Isaacs and Michael Palin all starring.

The Death of Stalin is released in UK cinemas on 20 October.
