Kate Winslet has revealed which character role she would most like to revisit.

The actress was speaking at the New York Film Festival ahead of the release of her new movie Wonder Wheel this week when she was asked which of her many onscreen alter egos she would like to reprise.

And the answer probably won't surprise you.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the actress revealed she would love to reprise the role of Clementine from the critically acclaimed romantic drama Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Winslet starred in the 2004 film opposite Jim Carrey, which followed a couple who vowed to erase each other from their respective lives after constant fighting.

Winslet even bagged an Oscar nomination for her convincing performance as the eccentric female lead – so we can totally see why she would want to do it all again.

And this time, with an even more ambitious hair colour.

"Actually, [Clementine] is one I'd love to play again because it was just so much fun," Winslet said.

"And the possibilities for the hair colours were just endless. Wouldn't you like to see Clementine as a 42-year-old woman?

"I'd love to know what happened to her. I love the idea that she just let herself get really fat and just totally let go of her hangups about her body and just indulged in everything that made her feel happy.

"And more hair colours and more crazy clothes! I just think that could've been fun."

Winslet stars in Woody Allen's Wonder Wheel as a 1950s waitress named Ginny, which will get a limited release in the US on 1 December. A UK release date hasn't been announced.

Luckily, we'll be able to see Kate Winslet star alongside Idris Elba in romantic survival film The Mountain Between Us, which is released in UK cinemas on 20 October, 2017.
