The full details for a disturbing scene that was cut from IT have surfaced online, and it sounds pretty damn gruesome.

Of course, the movie is packed with disturbing sequences, though we think this one may top them all, mainly because it involves Pennywise actually eating a baby.

"There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise]," star Bill Skarsgard revealed in September.

"The scene turned out really, really disturbing. And I'm not the clown. I look more like myself. It's very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what IT is, or where Pennywise came from."

Well, now details have emerged of the flashback scene (via Reddit), which is set in 1637 and involved a woman named Abigail running into her home clutching her baby.

There Pennywise appears, who appears as "naked, lithe, flesh pale and translucent, a half- formed imitation of a human" with "razor sharp teeth".

He then threatens her and her family, unless she sacrifices her baby to him, the script continuing: "She turns away from the baby. Faces those dying embers. We keep on her face as they seem to begin GLOWING BRIGHTER AS - OVER HER SHOULDER - OUT OF FOCUS - Pennywise crawls over to the Baby and starts to feast.

"SHARP CRY FROM THE BABY CUT OFF as we hear a CRUNCH. Abigail continues to look into the BRIGHT ORANGE GLOW of not the flickering fire... ...but the DEADLIGHTS. Her expression changing. Fear. Denial. Grief. Acceptance. And then nothing. Just a glazed look. AS IF NOTHING HORRIFIC IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING BEHIND HER."

However, this scene may yet appear in the planned sequel to IT, so we may see it on film after all.
