Dwayne Johnson has solved one of the greatest mysteries of our time – what, exactly, was his wrestling persona 'The Rock' cooking all those years?

Johnson was a professional wrestler with WWF/WWE from 1996 to 2004, back before his acting career took off. As a wrestler, his well-known catchphrase was: "Can you smell what The Rock is cooking?!"

Until now, we never knew just what it was Johnson wanted us to smell. But now, thanks to Twitter, all has been revealed.

Replying to a fan who asked the all-important question, Johnson said: "Actually, my wrestling persona, Rock's backstory is that he's an Executive Chef who specializes in moist Croquembouche (google it)."

Well, we did Google it, and found that a Croquembouche is a French dessert consisting of choux pastry balls piled into a cone and covered in caramel. If you're curious, it looks something like this:

Of course, The Rock stopped wrestling on a regular basis some time ago, and apart from the odd WWE appearance, Johnson has been focusing on his acting career.

One of his big breaks came with The Fast & Furious franchise, but feuding between cast members and the delay of the next sequel until 2020 means Johnson hasn't been receiving a whole lot of love from his co-stars lately.

Tyrese Gibson accused Johnson of being selfish for the delay, while Vin Diesel – who Johnson famously feuded with before – defended him, saying the delay wasn't the fault of any one person.

We'd have thought they'd learn not to mess with Johnson, though. Can't they smell what he's cooking?
