Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Daisy Ridley has revealed a bit of her character's origins. Well, kind of.

We still don't know anything about her family or past, but we do know that originally her name was going to be something else.

JJ Abrams didn't seem to be able to make up his mind, and it was well into production before he decided Rey was the perfect name.

"No, no, he [Abrams] told me it was meant to be Keera," she told V Magazine.

"And then, when we were already shooting in Abu Dhabi, he told me that he was thinking of going with Rey, which I thought was frickin' awesome.

"But because I had to audition so much and everything, I never really had a conversation with JJ about it until I had read the script."

Talking of Rey's origins, it seemed that Kylo Ren actor Adam Driver had let something slip about her family – but we've had a bit of a think about it and reckon he hasn't spoiled anything after all.

While we're on the topic of spoilers, a brand new poster for the film has dropped and shows Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) holding his lightsaber.

What does this mean? Will Luke be returning to full jedi status in the upcoming film?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in cinemas on 15 December.
