It's not going to be in cinemas for another month, but James Franco's The Disaster Artist is already one of the best-received films of the year. Its first trailer played up the movie's comedic side: The Disaster Artist tells the tale of Tommy Wiseau, an enigmatically accented and mysteriously moneyed actor/vampire, and the wondrously terrible movie he made with his straight man best friend Greg Sestero.

But this second trailer pulls off a more challenging feat: It makes us empathise with Tommy, and the inherent pathos of his tragically paired passion for film and absolute lack of talent in it.
