"I am a very dangerous man to know," Tom Hardy says in the first trailer for Taboo, his new FX series with iconic filmmaker Ridley Scott. And, if you've ever seen anything that Hardy has been in, you'll know he's not messing about. He's been Bane; he's been Mad Max; he's been Fitzgerald who left Leonardo DiCaprio's Hugh Glass in the woods to die. And now he's James Keziah Delaney the renegade who everyone thought was dead. Turns out they were wrong!

The eight-episode series (or "Event," as this trailer calls it)—which won't come to a small screen near you until 2017—follows Keziah (Hardy) as he "returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery." This Sunday, Tom Hardy movies make an appearance in pretty much every category at the Academy Awards. The Myspace enthusiast is even nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Taboo is written by Hardy and his father. Of course Tom Hardy's dad is cool.
