The Endorsement | Daniel Kitson

The Endorsement | Daniel Kitson

Going to the Edinburgh Fringe? Go see this man.

Daniel Kitson is a wispy-haired Yorkshireman with a stammer.

He’s also the best stand-up comedian in the world Winner of the Perrier Comedy Award when he was just 25, in the decade since Daniel Kitson has gained a reputation as a masterful compère and stand-up in his own right — and went on to feature in Phoenix Nights (which he’s not particularly proud of).

Despite the critical acclaim, Kitson has placed himself deliberately under the radar: “Whenever a more famous comedian namechecks me in an interview, I’m  deliberately shit for two weeks to shake off the newcomers,” he has said.

His new show is a dense piece that explores “the impossible becoming inevitable” via ruminations on love at first sight and a bit about wanking over Pixie Lott. See it, and be enlightened.

Where Once Was Wonder by Daniel Kitson is at The Stand Comedy Club 5–26 August thestand.co.uk
