When a man who specialises in heartbreak and disappointment is lost for words, something has gone awry.
The American author who created Game of Thrones penned a chilling, bleak and unsurprisingly dramatic blog entry predicting 'The worst president in American history'.
In a post entitled 'President Pussygrabber', Martin didn't need long to grapple with this feelings on Trump and ended it with a chilling echo of a warning heard at Castle Black:
"There are really no words for how I feel this morning.
America has spoken. I really thought we were better than this. Guess not.
Trump was the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party for the presidency. Come January, he will become the worst president in American history, and a dangerously unstable player on the world stage.
And the decimated Democrats, a minority in both House and Senate, do not have the power to hinder him.
Over the next four years, our problems are going to get much, much worse.
Winter is coming. I told you so."
His comments come hot on the heels of fellow writer Aaron Sorkin who wrote an open letter to his daughters that landed some choice blows on the The Donald.
Looks like we better prepare ourselves for life beyond The Wall, after all The Donald is building one.
Time to send in Khaleesi.
