What if I told you that Nicolas Cage had a vision, traveled to Pakistan on his own, and is currently hunting Osama bin Laden on foot with a katana? Of course, you'd be surprised, but would you be THAT surprised? Consider many of Cage's past performances, those faces, all those screams, that fight in front of a Vegas hotel with the Mötley Crüe guy—is this somewhat expected? Should we have seen this coming?

In the new trailer for Army of One, a white-bearded and white-haired Nicolas Cage gets a mandate from God (Russell Brand, naturally) to hunt down and kill bin Laden. Looking strikingly like Brent Spiner's Dr. Okun from Independence Day, Cage travels alone to Pakistan, where, armed with a katana, attempts to hunt down bin Laden.

As it turns out, this is actually a comedy based on the actual life of Gary Faulkner, rather than Cage's personal experience. Faulkner, a 50-year-old construction worker from Colorado, was arrested in Pakistan in 2010 carrying a pistol, a sword, a knife, night-vision goggles, a night-vision camera, and Christian literature. He had brief celebrity status upon his return and even appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman and The View, earning the nickname "Rocky Mountain Rambo."
