That Han Solo Star Wars anthology movie is lining up quite the star-studded cast.

The main role has gone to Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover has been cast as a young Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson is also on board as "a mentor" to Han, and Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke has been cast in an unspecified role.

And now, to add even more star power, Disney has only cast a star of one of the most critically acclaimed shows of the noughties – The Wire.

Michael K Williams, who stole the show in the HBO drama as Omar Little, has confirmed that he will appear in the Han Solo film. (He thinks so, anyway.)

"Yes ma'am," he told Entertainment Weekly: The Show when asked about the topic. "I think it's pretty safe to say, yeah, I think I'm going to be a part of the family."

Williams is also well known for his role as Albert 'Chalky' White in Boardwalk Empire, and has also appeared in Inherent Vice, Assassin's Creed and the all-new Ghostbusters.

Most recently, he played LGBTQ activist Ken Jones in Dustin Lance Black's ABC miniseries When We Rise.

At the moment, Williams' role in the Han Solo movie is unknown – much like the plot of the film.

The Wire aired between 2002 and 2008, with 60 episodes spread out over 5 seasons, and Williams' portrayal of Omar, an openly gay career criminal with a strict moral code, quickly made him a fan favourite (even with Barack Obama, no less).

Plenty of famous Hollywood faces appeared in the show, including a young Michael B Jordan and Dominic West. Oh, and some guy called Idris Elba who you may or may not have heard of.

Depending on how big Michael K Williams' role is in Star Wars, we might need to go back and update our 'who had the best post-The Wire career?' feature.

The Han Solo movie is due out on 25 May 2018. Next up for Star Wars is the eighth main entry in the franchise, The Last Jedi, which will hit cinemas in December.
