What's better than a teaser trailer for a teaser trailer? How about a description of a teaser trailer for a teaser trailer that was shown exclusively to reporters? Sounds like the type of news that only Star Wars fans would freak out about.

Los Angeles Times writer Daniel Miller (no relation) was one of the lucky (?) reporters who were given the honor of seeing a few precious seconds of Star Wars Episode VIII. One scene picks up where Episode VII left off, with Rey handing Luke Skywalker a lightsaber on a mysterious island.

Luke Skywalker says the following:

Kind of rude! But, if you've been hiding out on a secret planet while the First Order destroys the galaxy, you'd probably also forget your people skills.

And while this seems like an arbitrary line, it's also important if you over-analyze it as I'm about to do. We don't know who Rey's parents are. People seem to think Luke is her father since the Star Wars franchise likes to rehash tired bloodline plots. But, this line implies that Luke has no idea who the hell Rey is.

I know what you're going to say! [Adjusts glasses] "Well, Rey grew up orphaned on Jakku. Certainly Skywalker wouldn't recognise her as an adult if he abandoned her as a child." Wrong! As we've learned repeatedly from Darth Vader and Luke, the Skywalker family is pretty deeply connected to each other through the force. They know when one another is around. He'd totally know who Rey is immediately, because he's (probably maybe) the "last Jedi."

Anyway, since we know Star Wars VIII will pick up precisely where VII left off, these are almost certainly Skywalker's first words in the film.

But, who knows! This is wildly unnecessary speculation.
