So let's get this straight: Samuel L. Jackson is a foul-mouthed badass and Ryan Reynolds is his wisecracking sidekick? Yeah, would have loved to have been in the room when that was pitched. The product: Is Nick Fury meets Deadpool.

The two stars are basically doing what they each do best in the trailer for The Hitman's Bodyguard.

In the clip, we see bodyguard Reynolds meet hitman Jackson, who he's assigned to protect—much to the latter's dismay. The teaser for the upcoming comedy-action movie makes it look basically like The Bodyguard, but with more profanities than you could fill 100 swear jars with.

"This guy singlehandedly ruined the word motherfucker," Reynolds declares at one point, with Jackson promising to "bust a cap in your ass". "Have you ever said 'please'?" his bodyguard asks, before Jackson comes back with epic zinger, "Please, motherfucker!"

The movie will follow Jackson's hitman, who has to testify at the International Criminal Court, with Reynolds providing his protection as they try to make the trial on time. The Hitman's Bodyguard sounds like it has a pretty ace cast on top of that too, with Gary Oldman, Salma Hayek and Daredevil and The Defenders' Élodie Yung also appearing.

The Hitman's Bodyguard will hit theaters on August 18.
