Emma Watson is set to overtake Jennifer Lawrence as the world's highest-paid actress, The Evening Standard reports. The Beauty and the Beast star–who celebrated her 27th birthday on Saturday–will bring in millions for her role in the film.

Watson was paid $2.5 million (£2 million) upfront for her part as Belle in the Disney remake, however she is expected to get more than $18.9 million (£15 million) for the role thanks to a deal that entitles her to a slice of the film's earnings.

Currently the highest-grossing live-action musical of all time, Beauty and the Beast is also the first movie in 2017 to make $1 billion.

"I think she has the world in the palm of her hand," Liza Anderson, founder of Anderson Group Public Relations told The Evening Standard. "She is the biggest star in the world right now. She can star in anything. She's America's sweetheart and she's a global sweetheart. There's no better position to be in right now. I'm sure she has Hollywood banging at her door."

The actress also reportedly made nearly $63 million (£50 million) for her part as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series.
