The Lion King's casting choices for the new Timon and Pumbaa will make you scream Hakuna Matata — if you're a big comedy fan.

Disney is currently developing a live-action remake route of the Oscar-winning animated classic thanks to the huge box office success of recent hits Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast and The Jungle Book.

In fact, Disney was so pleased with the reception to its live-action Jungle Book that it's hired that movie's director Jon Favreau to bring The Lion King back to the big screen.

Favreau is currently in the middle of recasting some of the movie's iconic characters, and it sounds like he's got a lead on the perfect Timon and Pumbaa.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney and the filmmaker are zeroing in on comedy god Seth Rogen as the warthog Pumbaa and Parks and Recreation's Billy Eichner as the meerkat Timon.

If those deals are ultimately signed, Eichner and Rogen would be replacing beloved duo Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella in the Lion King remake.

Disney has already signed up Donald Glover as the new Simba, while the legendary James Earl Jones will reprise his iconic role as the noble Mufasa. Beyoncé is currently in the running to voice Nala.
