Just about any actor who's a British man and of a certain age has beenlinked to the role of James Bond at one point or another, so King Arthur: Legend of the Sword star Charlie Hunnam is obviously no exception.

The actor stopped by Conan last night to promote his new film, so Conan thought he'd take the opportunity to give Charlie a chance to set the record straight.

And, when it comes to the rumours that he could be the next James Bond, Charlie Hunnam had just two – no, wait, three – things to say about it.

"I can say two things," he started. "I'm English, and I look devilishly handsome in a suit."

So far so good on the James Bond front, then?

"I can say three things," Charlie continued. "Nobody has called me about playing James Bond, so I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen."

Oh, ok. Never mind.

That's not to say that Charlie is particularly against the idea of taking on the 007 role though, as when Conan went on to joke that they're constantly asking him to pick up the part, Charlie added he wouldn't mind being considered.

"If you decide not to do it," he said. "You could just throw your old pal Charlie's name in the hat."
