Dunkirk is the most anticipated World War II movie in years—a summer blockbuster from Christopher Nolan that will be screened on stunning 70 mm. And just from the trailers, we know it's going to be intense—filled with battles, death, and not so much blood because it's rated 12A. Like any war story, there will be honour and there will be horror. The film stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, James D'Arcy, Mark Rylance, and Harry Styles. And in each trailer we've seen so far, there's been a brief, terrifying image of Styles drowning. Just from the first glimpse of footage, Styles fans around the world have been deeply concerned about the fictional fate of their favorite boy band member turned WWII-era British soldier.

Things are not looking good for Styles in the latest trailer. He actually speaks! "Somebody's got to get off this so the rest of us can live," he says inside a sinking boat. Combine that with the scenes we've seen of him submerged in water with two boats closing in on either side, and you can imagine who probably makes that sacrifice. This footage has been greeted with headlines like "Harry Styles Speaks In Epic New Trailer & Fans Are Hyperventilating." While they might not literally be hyperventilating, fans do have a reason to be worried.

Styles is probably going to die!

Look, it's a genius move casting Styles in a role like this. He's young, he's innocent, he's loved around the world, he represents the exact type of young lad lost too soon to a senseless war.

"When we put the cast together, we had some established names," Nolan told the L.A. Times. "But for the guys on the beach, we really wanted young unknowns. [Styles] is not that unknown, but he'd never done anything as an actor before. So he auditioned. I auditioned literally thousands of young men with different combinations of young men. And he had it."

Nolan doesn't need to spend much time creating a relationship between the audience and Styles' character, because there are a minimum of 30 million people who are seeing this movie because they already love Styles. And he has to die. It's the ultimate sacrifice! We'll know for sure soon.
