Split's Anya Taylor-Joy is potentially reteaming with The Witch's director on a remake of classic horror Nosferatu.

Variety reports that she is in talks to star in Studio 8's remake, which is being written and directed by Robert Eggers. The iconic 1922 silent movie was an unofficial adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Nosferatu has already had a remake from Werner Herzog in 1979, and if Eggers and Taylor-Joy do reunite on the new version, we have high hopes that it won't just be a pointless do-over.

Following her breakout role in The Witch, Taylor-Joy has become one of the most-sought-after young actresses in Hollywood.

She is currently filming Josh Boone's X-Men: New Mutants in which she stars opposite Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams as Illyana Rasputin – aka Magik, the sister of X-Men mainstay Colossus – although James McAvoy won't be appearing as Charles Xavier.

After that, Taylor-Joy will be filming Split and Unbreakable sequel Glass with McAvoy, Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson.

According to Jackson, Glass is scheduled to start filming next month with rehearsals kicking off on 18 September and shooting beginning a week later, with the sequel set to be released in January 2019.

M Night Shyamalan recently teased to us that Glass will be connected to the previous two movies, but very different: "The third one should have its own cool idea separate from the fact that it's related to those two movies. That's the hope."

So, basically, don't go expecting Nosferatu anytime soon if Taylor-Joy does sign up, but we're happy to wait for it.
