After appearing in Elysium, Interstellar, and The Martian three years in a row, Matt Damon will return in 2017 with another sci-fi movie. But this one has a different tone.

Downsizing, a near-future social satire from director Alexander Payne (Sideways, The Descendants), follows husband and wife Matt Damon and Kristin Wiig as they undergo a procedure to shrink down to .0364 percent of their body size. It's the hot new craze! It helps save the planet! Just think about it—you use fewer resources, make less trash, take up less space, have an overall smaller carbon footprint. And plus, it increases the value of all your money and makes property dirt cheap. You can live in a mini mansion and throw parties where you tap a bottle of vodka the size of a car.

The movie got warm reviews following its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, with the Guardian calling it a "gorgeous, giddy parable of a modern-day Lilliput." Downsizing also stars Christoph Waltz and Hong Chau and is due out in December.
