Fancy being in Star Wars: Episode 9? Well, you are in luck as Disney is opening auditions for the movie – and they're looking for actors.

According to moviecastingcall.org, the search for actors and extras is now gearing up ahead of filming, which is due to begin next year.

Episode IX is set to be directed by JJ Abrams following the sudden departure of Colin Trevorrow a few weeks ago.

"Casting directors are now setting up auditions for new lead and supporting roles," the call states. "Filming will be taking place at the Pinewood Studios in London, England and surrounding areas."

It also notes that "all talent must have legal eligibility to work in the entertainment industry in London and in the United Kingdom".

However, the lead and supporting roles are chiefly being cast "through talent agents in Los Angeles, New York, and London", though you can submit if you don't have an agent and fancy your chances.

Details of any open casting calls and locations are expected to follow in the coming weeks and months.

Interestingly, the report also appears to confirm that shooting will begin in January, despite reports last week that it would be moved back a few months following the change of director.

Abrams is set to co-write alongside Argo's Chris Terrio and also produce the final chapter in the current Star Wars trilogy.

"With The Force Awakens, JJ delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said.

Before that, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, will be released on 14 December in the UK and 15 December in the US.
