Reports of Liam Neeson "retiring" from action movies have been greatly exaggerated, so expect him to be finding baddies and killing them until he hits the grave.

The Taken star suggested earlier this month that he had had enough of doing action flicks, reasoning that he was too old for them.

"They're still throwing serious money at me to do that stuff," he said. "I'm like, 'Guys, I'm sixty-f**king-five'. Audiences are eventually going to go, 'Come on'."

However, it seems he has "unretired" almost immediately, after being pressed on the comments in a new interview.

"It's not true, look at me!" he told Variety. "You're talking in the past tense. I'm going to be doing action movies until they bury me in the ground. I'm unretired."

Thank goodness for that. After all, we couldn't bear the thought of seeing his particular set of skills go to waste.

Of course, this isn't the first time that Liam has said he was retiring and gone back on his word – his flirtation with acting retirement first popped into his head in 1999.

"I'm getting out, I'm retiring from movies next year," he said at the time. "Honest to God, I'm not happy doing it – I don't want to do it anymore."

Oh, and he said he would quit action movies "in two years" back in 2015, though here we all are.
