Daniel Craig might have already signed on for Bond 25, but those Idris Elba for James Bond rumours just won't go away.

Last month, Elba sounded pretty pessimistic about his chances to play 007 in the future by saying that "no-one wants it", but it turns out there's one reason why the rumours annoy him a bit.

"It's interesting that the James Bond thing continues to go. I think it's more about, we just want to have a black guy play James Bond rather than Idris Elba, the actor, play James Bond. That's the part that I'm like, 'Ugh, come on'," he told The New York Times.

And there's also one element of Bond that Idris doesn't quite agree with when it comes to martinis. "I like them stirred. Not shaken. Jesus Christ, did I just say that out loud?," he joked.

Even though he'll be playing 007 for a fifth time, Craig did hint that Bond 25 might be his final mission.

"I just want to go out on a high note, and I can't wait," he explained when making the announcement.

We don't know much more about the next Bond film other than its release date of 8 November, 2019 in US cinemas and a to-be-confirmed earlier UK release.

However, producer Barbara Broccoli has said that they would "of course" consider female directors: "It's incredibly important to support change in front of and behind the camera. I love working with women. It's a different vibe."
