There's a new movie poster for The Last Jedi that is freaking everyone out – because Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is holding his lightsaber.

(You know, the one that originally belonged to Anakin before he went bad and got passed down to Luke over the course of time.)

Last we saw of the lightsaber was in The Force Awakens when Rey was pushing it in Luke's direction, although it didn't look like he was about to take her up on her offering anytime soon.

Indeed, all the movie's promotional material up until now seemed to suggest Luke was not going to wield a lightsaber – which we haven't seen him hold since the Emperor's throne room during Return of the Jedi.

And we haven't seen him hold the blue lightsaber since his duel with Darth Vader in Cloud City.

So yeah, we're pretty excited, because this feels like a HUGE spoiler dropped ever so casually in this Chinese promotional poster.

Of course, this is only a movie poster – but it wouldn't exactly be the first time Chinese promotional material has let slip a huge movie spoiler, as the trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 revealed the return of Keira Knightley's Elizabeth Swan, which until then had been a secret.

So we have (a new) hope that this is the real deal and we will see Luke return to full jedi status in this movie.

But we'll have to wait until December to find out for sure.
