Forget the Christmas adverts currently lighting up TV screens everywhere, Ryan Reynolds knows exactly what you need to get you into a festive frame of mind – new Deadpool 2 teasers.

The actor and official Deadpool social media pages have been teasing something big by dropping all sorts of holiday-themed posters and pictures with some cryptic and downright cheeky captions.

First up? Deadpool taking centre stage in a Good Housekeeping cover spread featuring all of the Merc's tips on how to celebrate the holiday.

"My secret to a proper stuffing?" Ryan Reynolds captioned the image. "Gentle hands, heavy eye contact, and bundles of thyme"

The magazine front cover itself features such article headings as "Giving Your Family the Bird", "'Tis the season to put the FUN back in dysfunctional" and the brilliant "Come for the gifts, stay for the package"; but the real teaser came in Deadpool's Instagram post of the image.

"We all have that special relative who shows up unexpectedly during the holidays... you're about to meet ours," the caption read.

We're about to meet what? A new cast member? A trailer? Colour us intrigued.

As for the second image, that was more dedicated to showing off the cast the film has already, featuring the confirmed Deadpool 2 line-up around a table and ready to celebrate Thanksgiving.

"Thanksgiving in our house is a glorious, non-stop car accident set to the music of cocaine," Ryan Reynolds captioned the picture on Twitter, later adding on Instagram: "I cooked this entire turkey using only a Zippo lighter."

Around the Merc with the Mouth's dinner table are Deadpool and Cable (Josh Brolin) serving the turkey, while Domino (Zazie Beetz), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), Dopinder (Karan Soni), Weasel (TJ Miller) and Colossus (Stefan Kapičić) are all featured.

Oh, and Marvel Comics' Stan Lee gets pride of place in a framed image on the wall too.

Considering Deadpool 2 wrapped filming last month and is aiming for a release date of 1 June 2018, these gloriously funny posters are likely just the start of exciting new teasers of the film to come.
