Everyone goofs from time to time, even big Hollywood filmmakers – as we're about to see.

But wait! Maybe these weren't mistakes at all, but subtle hints that something else is going on behind the scenes that we never even dreamed of until now.

(Okay, probably not. But it's fun to imagine.)

Here are the mistakes that could change everything you thought you knew…

1. Jurassic Park – Evil humans were working with the dinosaurs!

The 'mistake': A human hand can be seen pushing the raptor into the kitchen.

Things fall apart just a little too easily in Jurassic Park, and we're not sure that dinosaurs could have caused all that chaos when they still lack opposable thumbs.

But actually, those dinosaurs had help from a shadowy group of humans who didn't want the park to succeed. Go back and try to work out who the kids upset so much that later they would set the raptor on them in the kitchen.

2. The Dark Knight Rises – Batman is a metahuman!

The 'mistake': One goon flies backwards through the air without Batman even touching him.

Batman is responsible for a small but notable handful of seemingly impossible acts in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy – returning to Gotham in double-quick time and escaping from that exploding bat-plane to mention but two. The above-mentioned fight is a rare moment when he slips and allows his amazing telekinetic powers to be seen in action.

The use of his powers takes a terrible toll on Bruce Wayne's body – remember the mess he was in at the beginning of The Dark Knights Rises? He uses them when necessary, but eventually has to orchestrate his 'retirement' to save his own life.

3. Suicide Squad – Harley Quinn is under a curse!

The 'mistake': Harley Quinn receives an instant haircut and dye job after putting on her costume.

Suicide Squad starts out well enough, but descends into utter nonsense after the team head out on their first mission.

So what happened? Well, as soon as Harley Quinn puts on her meagre costume, her hair is transformed and she degenerates into an idiot who drops lines like, "We're bad guys – it's what we do!" and dreams only of being a housewife.

Why Amanda Waller gave her the cursed costume is yet to be revealed in the DCEU – her schemes are as bizarre as they are inscrutable.

4. Scream – The third murderer was never caught!

The 'mistake': A hand can be seen pushing things out of the closet along with Sidney's father.

Let's face it – Billy and Stu were idiots who couldn't possibly have masterminded their scheme all alone. While they were busy ballsing up the plan, this unknown third murderer was looking for a way out.

While Neil Prescott was hiding in the closet, the 'third man' crept in through a forgotten back entrance. They threatened Sidney's dad, saying that they would kill his daughter if he revealed their involvement, pushed him through the door and made a run for it. Do we smell a Scream 5 in the works?

5. Pirates of the Caribbean – The film is set in a Westworld park!

The 'mistake': A man in a cowboy hat can be seen standing behind Captain Jack Sparrow on the deck of his ship.

It's obvious really. The cast of the Pirates films are all robots, caught up in increasingly daft adventures designed to entertain an ever more cynical audience.

That would explain why Sparrow is really so much like Keith Richards – the android was inspired by him. Although whether the cowboy hat-wearing man is a guest or a host wandered in from another part of the park remains a mystery.

6. Jurassic World – Not only dinosaurs were created for the new park!

The 'mistake': The paramilitary team hunting the Indominus Rex all have identical heartbeats.

Cloned dinosaurs are great and all, but the rich investors behind the new Jurassic Park weren't content to stop there.

Artificial humans had also been created behind the scenes who – despite variations in appearance – all share the same vital signs. The real point of the park was to test the two products against each other, and the dinosaurs very much won.

7. Braveheart – Time travellers altered history!

The 'mistake': A white car is parked behind the fighters in one battle scene.

Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning Braveheart has been accused of countless historical inaccuracies, but that just shows how audiences and critics completely missed the point.

The white car was brought into the past by the time travellers who drastically altered the events surrounding the war between England and Scotland. One of the baseball cap-wearing 'future men' can even be seen sneaking past William Wallace and his men at one point.

8. Bambi – The forest was haunted!

The 'mistake': A baby raccoon being licked by an adult disappears mid-shot

Bambi is known as one of Disney's most tragic movies. But the death of our hero's mother is only the icing on the cake.

Bambi actually in a forest haunted by the spectres of deceased animals that flicker in and out of sight. Mothers are tormented by the phantoms of their lost cubs, and Thumper has been dead for years.
