Jason Momoa has responded to criticism of his new movie Justice League.

The actor plays Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DCEU movie, which predictably hasn't been well-received by critics, and even some fans.

At present, the movie has a 40% Rotten Tomatoes rating, following an initial score of 50% and a secondary score of 38%, which is better than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (27%) and Suicide Squad (26%), but nowhere near the lofty heights of Wonder Woman (92%).

However, Momoa has hit back at the movie's negative response by insisting he loved it.

"I try to stay the f**k away from what people say," he told Entertainment Weekly.

"Some of my friends said, 'Justice League isn't doing well' and it kind of bummed me out. But I didn't want to look it up. I don't want to look up the bad and the negativity.

"I don't think that's useful; it doesn't help. I've seen [Justice League] twice. I loved it the second time even more."

Justice League was released last week, and while it did top the US Box Office, it marked the DCEU's worst ever opening weekend.
