Bryan Cranston Is Starring In The New Power Rangers Movie For Some Reason

Only his head, to be fair

From the moment that the camera panned from Walter White's spent and spread-eagled body in the finale of Breaking Bad, people have been eager to see the peerlessly talented Bryan Cranston take over Hollywood.

Yet in three years since, his output has been pretty underwhelming. Bar a star turn in Trumbo, Cranston has crushed our expectations with films like Godzilla and Kung Fu Panda 3.

But worry no more, because it's here. The movie that will earn Cranston the respect he deserves. The movie that will place him in the pantheon of decade-defining actors. His iconic role.

That's right: he's playing that floating head in the new Power Rangers film.

Zordon, to be exact.

For those who didn't grow up with the Power Rangers theme tunebouncing around their heads all day, Zordon is a galactic sage who commands the multicoloured squadron of Earth-savers.

Of course you might find Cranston's decision surprising, but we don't. Because if, like us, you were really down with your Power Rangers trivia, you'd know that he's already starred in the show – as Snizzard, the snake-bellied lizard monster.

A lot for the academy to mull over, for sure. The movie is set for release on 24 March, 2017.
