The clamour for a female James Bond – first advocated on these very pages – shows no sign of abating as another actresses has thrown her hat in the ring.
Kristen Stewart – the moody one from that vampire thing – was being interviewed alongside Nicholas Hoult – the weird kid from that Hugh Grant film – to promote their movie Equals.
Stewart first told E! she would back her co-star – who has been touted as a possible future Bond in the past - for the role, before adding she'd be just as good herself.
'We'll walk into the screen test and I'll see you dressed in a tuxedo,' Nicholas joked. 'I'll be like, "Kristen, what are you doing here?" I'll just turn around and walk straight back out.'
Stewart agreed, before laying out her vision for how a female Bond could be introduced.
"You start off as the Bond girl and then you think it's just the girlfriend and then you're like, "She's actually Bond." In the trailer, it's him and then a bait and switch."
At 26 both whippersnappers are little on the young side to be 007, but after the hysteria whipped up by the all-female Ghostbusters reboot we're tempted to back Stewart just to watch the collection convulsion of the Angry Male Keyboard Warriors.
