The BBC Has Announced The Greatest Film Of The 21st Century

Clue: it's not Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked

A few weeks ago, Twitter users were asked to list their #7favouritefilms – and immediately, in unison, they all screamed 'THE DARK KNIGHT' over and over and over again until their voices grew hoarse and their data capped out. It's probably still happening now, if you look.

Needless to say, film critics took a different stance when the 'favourite film' brain scratcher was posed to them by the BBC as part of their 'top 100' poll.

Nearly 200 critics around the globe were tasked with listing their top movies of the 21st century, and the results are as pretentious as they are justified.

David Lynch's confounding Hollywood masterpiece Mulholland Drive takes top spot, followed by acclaimed Chinese romance In the Mood For Love, and then Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood.
