One of the most quotable and memorable cult films of the nineties, a first image from The Big Lebowski spin-off has finally been released, as well as the film's official name.
Titled Going Places, the follow up to the Coen brothers' 1998 classic sees John Turturro reprise his role as the lithe, purple tracksuited, bowling ball polishing psychopath Jesus Quintana.
While the Coen brothers aren't involved in the project, they have given Turturro their blessing to write, direct and star in the feature; with the official synopsis reading:
"John Turturro plays Jesus Quintana in Going Places, a film about a trio of misfits whose irreverent, sexually charged dynamic evolves into a surprising love story as their spontaneous and flippant attitude towards the past or future backfires time and again, even as they inadvertently perform good deeds. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, their journey becomes one of constant escape from the law, from society and from the hairdresser, all while the bonds of their outsider family strengthen."
So far, so strange, which is - hopefully - a good thing.
The film is currently without an official release date, but we do know that Turturro will be joined by a cast that includes Audrey Tatou, Susan Sarandon and Sonia Braga, with more names to be confirmed.
We're still hoping on a Jeff Bridges cameo at some point.
