Given the success one man had recently with getting Eugenie Bouchard to go on a date with him, you can't blame this guy for trying.
17-year-old Jacob Staudenmaier wasn't put off by Emma Stone's rocket to stardom and recent Oscar scoop and decided she was who he'd like to go to prom with. Very noble.
The student at Arcadia High School in Phoenix put together an alternative version of the colossal opening scene of La La Land with what looks like a serious amount of effort including rows of parked cars, cheerleaders, flowers and signs.
"I love La La Land. It was one of my favorite films of the year, and I've always loved Emma Stone as an actress, especially in her film Birdman," Staudenmaier explained."I decided if I was going to do this I needed to do it big and ambitious."
His 'promposal' was inspired by another student at his school who asked Miley Cyrus to prom several years ago. She didn't accept but did ask him onstage at a concert, not bad.
"The planning took about two weeks with intense thinking about how the movements had to be and when I'd sing each line," Staudenmaier said. "I don't consider myself much of an actor or a dancer but I'm willing to do both," the Gosling doppelgänger admitted. "I sort of improv my dancing, which is why it's pretty awkward and funny towards the end."
The amount he's willing to embarrass himself surely shows he's deserving of a response. Or not.
