With a new digital print of Apocalypse Now out next week, restored under the supervision of director Francis Ford Coppola himself, there's also a three-disc blu-ray edition on its way (out on June 13) which features over 9 hours of extras including a fascinating conversation between Coppola and writer John Milius who adapted Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness for the screenplay in which he explains how the idea was formed. Given the film's insane production difficulties and the excellence of the original sound design and editing, this is one frame-by-frame reprint that deserves a viewing. Out in cinemas on May 27
