Those of us who have often agonised over the question 'who would win a fight, a giant ape or an ancient radioactive sea lizard' will finally know the answer soon – a Godzilla vs. Kong movie is in the works.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Adam Wingard, he of low-budget horror thrillers The Guest and You're Next, has been hired to direct the CGI-splattered monster face-off with Terry Rossio, the man who wrote Pirates of the Caribbean, on script duties.
Scheduled for release on 22 May 2020, the project has been inspired after the success of Godzilla (2014) and Kong: Skull Island earlier this year suggested it would probably make a shit ton of money.
No other details are known yet, but we predict a scene in which one of the Four Great Chris's (Pine / Pratt / Evans / Hemsworth) gazes up, probably through a New York skyline, with a look of grim astonishment as a hairy fist meets whipped tail, crushing a building or two. Oh and Puff Daddy doing the soundtrack. Hopefully.
