On the heels of the Oscar-buzzed Tonya Harding biopic, a film titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, based on the story of serial killer Ted Bundy, has announced two star cast members.

This film is told from the perspective of Elizabeth Kloepfer, Bundy's girlfriend who he hid his murder spree from for years, and who was instrumental in him being caught. It was only in the lead up to his execution that Bundy confessed to the extensive scope of his gruesome murders.

Signed up to play Kloepfer is Lily Collins, who has recently starred in To the Bone and Okja, and stepping into the shoes of Ted Bundy is Zac Efron - a long way from his Baywatch and High School Musical days.

Directing is Joe Berlinger, who commented that, "Lily has very quickly distinguished herself as a major talent in a number of diverse roles in recent years."

He added, "I am really excited about taking Zac and this hugely talented actress to some dark but very human places they may not yet have explored."

Production is due to start in January of next year.
