Fifty years have passed since Federico Fellini gifted the world with La Dolce Vita, his tale of hedonist excess and neo-realist glamour, and in doing so synonymised Italian cinema with style and elegance. This year, in celebration of Italian film and its creators, Peroni Nastro Azzurro have joined forces with acclaimed Italian director, Gabriele Muccino, to create their Accademia del Film Wrap Party Tour, which kicks off in London’s Truman Brewery on 26 August.
The award-winning director hand-picked a creative collective to make "Senza Tempo", a short film that will be screened at each of the "wrap parties", which are being held around the UK. The events are designed to showcase all that is revered in Italian film, from its technical excellence to the immaculate design, while recreating the distinctive atmosphere of the Italian film industry.
Gabriele Muccino himself describes Italian film as “ordinary stories of people in their everyday lives made extraordinary”. If that’s true then this is extraordinary cinema in a unique setting made even more so. Italian beer and vintage Moschino are definitely the order of the day. Vespas are optional.
