Sometimes we feel like rarely a day goes by without us singing the praises of TV satirist Charlie Brooker. But then again, rarely a day goes by without him doing something clever, or funny, or worthwhile. This Thursday is no exception, as it marks the start of the second series of You Have Been Watching, Brooker's acerbic, chat-cum-review show, in which he and a guest panel dissect the week's television.
Admittedly Brooker doesn't seem quite as comfortable in the cheerful wobbly studio set as he is in the basement den from which he records the links to Screenwipe – something about that sycophantic studio audience laughter must grate a little, surely? But the comments are still sharp and amusing, and it's a worth a shot if you don't get the appeal of Harry Hill and his shark puppets'n'shaving foam-filled TV Burp. (As for us, we like You Have Been Watching. But we also like Harry Hill's TV Burp.... But which is better? There's only one way to find out...)
You Have Been Watching starts this Thursday on Channel 4 at 10pm
