Gervais goes up the Junction

Esquire went on set during the making of Cemetery Junction, the new film from Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, when Gervais was guest editing the November 2009 edition of the magazine. We've now seen the movie and can confirm it's great - a charming, frequently funny rites of passage tale set in 1970s Reading, starring three of the brightest young talents in British film: Tom Hughes, Christian Cooke (who will both appear in the April edition of Esquire) and the rather lovely Felicity Jones.

“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done,” Ricky told us at the end of last year. “Why? because we’ve sort of fulfilled our ambitions. We’ve made a British film that is neither chocolate box nor unreal.
