Hard to believe, but it’s a terrifying 20 years this week since Chris Morris and Armando Ianucci’s brilliant news parody The Day Today first aired on BBC, spawning a generation of slightly maniacal fans liable to quote long tracts of dialogue and tell you their favourite bits in forensic detail given the merest sniff of a chance.
