After raising an astounding $3M on Kickstarter in a bid to retain creative control of the project,  Zach Braff's Wish I Was Here film trailer has arrived.

It received mixed reviews after its Sundance premiere, but we reckon it looks to have captured a whole lot of the whimsical charm that made Braff's directorial debut, Garden State, an indie favourite.

Braff's managed to recruit a pretty stellar cast – he takes the lead role, opposite family rom-com stalwart Kate Hudson as his wife, Josh Gad as his lay-about brother and Homeland's Mandy Patinkin as his ailing father.

Set to the tune of music by The Shins, Bon Iver, Cat Power and Chris Martin, get ready to come over all emotional.

Wish I Was Here is slated to open on 18 July in the US.
