Ariana Grande's latest video for "Break Free" features breast-mounted missile launchers (making a brief appearance against some sort of evil, intergalactic robot), but she's not the first making her the latest proponent of multi-purpose breasts in popular culture, as this list goes to show. Just don't get on the wrong end of them.
1&2 | Missile boobs
As sported by Ariana Grande
In the new space-themed video for her soulless turbo pop track “Break Free”, the 21-year-old American pop starlet with Bambi eyes and chronically lacklustre diction deploys an impressive missile launch system from the top of her cosmic-lap-dancer’s bustier. Admittedly the CGI isn’t very subtle, but it’s nothing compared to the shameless Beats by Dr Dre product placement at 3mins 40.
3&4 | Headlight boobs
As sported by Lauren Holly
In one of the iconic scenes from Dumb and Dumber (but let’s be honest, how many of them aren’t?), Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) indulges in a sexy daydream at the wheel. When he finally gets lust object Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly) in front of the fire for the grand finale, he find her breasts have been replaced by headlights (the ones belonging to the lorry coming towards him in fact). Honk honk indeed.
5&6 | Whipped cream can boobs
As sported by Katy Perry
We’re not sure how easy it would be to wear Katy Perry’s whipped-cream-dispensing bra from the video for California Gurls under, say, a Gap T-shirt, but it’d sure bring a whole new frisson to late-night fridge raids, tea round your Auntie Carol’s, and Wimbledon.
7&8 | Smoke machine boobs
As sported by Dr Evil’s fembots
Admittedly, as well as emitting a sexy pheromone cloud, the breasts belonging to Dr Evil’s fembots – devised as the ultimate weapon to take down Austin Powers – can also shoot rounds of bullets, but where’s the fun in that? Ah, the fourth year Pancake Disco could have been so different.
9&10 | Assault Rifle boobs
As sported by Lady Gaga
On a 2010 cover of Rolling Stone magazine, Gargs sported a not-entirely-comfy-looking brassiere with M16s protruding from the cups. She dug it out of the dressing-up box again for her Born This Way tour in 2013, though sensibly switched to a smaller model of firearm, presumably for dance routine purposes.
