Scorsese Alert: 'Revenge Of The Green Dragons' Trailer Out Now

Martin Scorsese executively produces Triad troubles in New York

Back in 2006 Martin Scorsese reminded us all that gritty crime thrillers were his bread and butter with The Departed, a remake of Chinese director Andrew Lau’s Internal Affairs (and the film that finally bagged Scorsese the Academy Award for Best Director).

Now, Scorsese is returning the favour by filling the executive producer shoes on Lau’s English language crime saga Revenge Of The Green Dragon, the trailer for which has just been released.

Featuring Ray Liotta as a honest cop, the film explores the Chinese immigrant experience in 1980s New York and the gang lifestyle that accompanies it. Basically, expect gambling, guns and ghetto blasters.

With Scorses’s next project, Silence, a film about Jesuit priests in 17th century Japan, Revenge Of The Green Dragons looks like it’ll do a fantastic job of tiding us over until Scorsese’s rumoured Pacino/DeNiro/Pesci crime saga The Irishman gets underway.
