Mila Kunis’ position as boss of everything has been established for some time now, but the Wachowskis are making the role official in their latest sci-fi epic, Jupiter Ascending.
The film centres on Kunis’ Jupiter Jones, an Earth-bound cleaner destined for greater things (honestly, the clue is in the name). Just as she’s about to resign herself to a life of Jiff and tough kitchen stains, Channing Tatum shows up in his best centaur gear to inform her that she’s actually intergalactic royalty.
Thus begins a hyper-stylised space actioner that looks to be somewhere between The Matrix and the Japan-based scenes of Wachowski’s last effort, Cloud Atlas.
Also on board is Eddie Redmayne on ultra toothy, quiet-but-menacing form as bad guy Balem Abrasax and Sean Bean as a benevolent space commander.
The film won’t touch down in cinemas until 6 February next year, but sweepstakes on how Sean Bean’s character will die are open now.
Can Mila save the universe?
