American cable network Comedy Central began the tradition of roasting notworthy celebrities (read: those suffering from a career slump / mountains of bad press) back in 2003, and last night was the turn of Justin Bieber to squirm as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Martha Stewart rip into every aspect of his personal and professional life.
Choice lines included Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy ("This kid has spunk, moxie, and probably a few other STDs") and Let's Be Cops actress Natasha Legerro's dig at Bieber's fans ("Justin's fans are called Beliebers because it's politically incorrect to use the word retards").
To mark the event, we round up our favourite close-to-the-bone moments from the Comedy Central Roast's twelve year history.
1 | American stand up comedian Jeff Ross on Pamela Anderson (2005)
2 | William Shatner on Charlie Sheen (2011)
3 | Seth Rogen on James Franco (2013)
4 | Whitney Cummings on Joan Rivers (2009)
5 | Snoop Dogg on Donald Trump (2011)
The Roast of Justin Bieber will air on Comedy Central UK tonight (31 March) at 10pm, comedycentral.co.uk
