Robert De Niro To Graduating Art Students: "You're F**ked"

Bickle lives on

A graduating class in the US got an unheralded surprise when Robert De Niro showed up to speak at their ceremony and kick-started his speech by telling them they were all "f**ked."

The iconic actor was invited to the 2015 class at New York's Tisch School of the Arts, providing a 16-minute long speech to the crowded room of graduates.

The Taxi Driver star showed he was as unafraid to push boundaries behind a podium as he is in front of a camera.

“Tisch graduates," he began, "you made it – and you’re f**ked.”

Naturally – because it was Robert De Niro – everybody laughed it off. That isn't to say the two-time Oscar winner didn't go on to share some words of wisdom.

"Rejection might sting, but my feeling is that often it has very little to do with you," he added. "Your mantra, your motto, your battle cry [should be] 'next'."

It's the best thing De Niro's done in years. You can watch it above.
