Leonardo DiCaprio met His Holiness Pope Francis this morning at the Vatican, where they had a brief discussion about the environment (through a translator) before Leo presented a check from his foundation. Prior to their chat, which included a story about how the work of 15th-century Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch used to hang over Baby Leo's crib, Present-Day Leo greeted the pontiff in Italian.

According to the Associated Press, Leo said, "Your Holiness, thank you for granting me this private audience with you," and kissed the pope's ring. I'd like to think Leo also said, in broken Italian, something to the effect of "Help me win an Oscar next month."
