So there was that time Ryan Gosling fell in love with an inflatable doll in Lars and the Real Girlbut if the trailer is anything to go by The Nice Guys might just be The Gosling's most ridiculous film yet.

Set amongst the neon hedonism of 1970s Los Angeles, private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) are brought together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a pornstar.

Expect sex, blood and lots of aggressively wide lapels in what could be - whisper it - the next Lethal Weapon, or at least 21 Jump Street.

The Nice Guys is in cinemas from 3 June 2016
