Oscar Isaac And 'Ex Machina' Director Alex Garland To Team Up Again

It's called 'Annihilation', and it sounds great

Sci-fi dream team Oscar Isaac and Alex Garland have confirmed they will follow up the success of Ex Machina by working together on a new thriller called Annihilation - with Natalie Portman also  joining the cast.

Director Garland is adapting the script from the novel of the same name by Jeff Vander Meer in which a biologist (Portman) goes looking for answers to her husband's disappearance on a expedition to a remote environmental disaster zone, where, naturally, all manner of sinister things reside.

In addition to the Star Wars actor and Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez and Tessa Thompson will star in what could well become a trilogy: rights have been optioned for other two parts of the book series, Authority and Acceptance

Dates are yet to be set in stone but the film is likely to be released in 2017, with filming beginning in London this Spring.
