Netflix Has Announced A Second Series Of Making A Murderer

This is not a drill

There were a few weeks, back at the tail end of 2015, where it was impossible to have an office conversation. The very second a sound left your mouth, co-workers would shut you up, terrified that you were about to reveal a 'Making a Murderer' spoiler.

Well, prepare to zip your lips once more, because Netflix has just announced a second series of the lauded, Emmy-nominated documentary.

Now, a lot has happened since the first series' bruising conclusion - but we won't go into any detail on it, just in case you've been living under a Wi-Fi-less rock in the hope that this very day would come. Safe to say, the story's twisty-turny drama refuses to let up.

Directors Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos say the series is in production, but is without a firm release date. Avery's new lawyer Kathleen Zellner, as well as Brendan Dassey's defense team, have granted the two exclusive access to their legal process as they work to free the infamous pair from jail.

"We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response to, and support of, the series," Ricciardi and Demos said in a joint statement. "The viewers' interest and attention has ensured that the story is not over, and we are fully committed to continuing to document events as they unfold."
