Just when you thought Apple had gone far enough already, what with talk of a completely different keyboard and the lack of headphone jack on the iPhone 7, rumour has it they're looking to ditch the USB port on laptops, too.

Wait, what?

And we're not even talking far into the future, either, as Analysts KGI reckon the three new laptops released on 27 October (a 13 inch MacBook, a 13 inch MacBook Pro and a 15 inch MacBook Pro) won't have a USB port at all.

A Chinese supplier teased that the USB might not be making a comeback a while back now, but the rumour started seriously doing the rounds after Apple announced the launch of a new generation of Macbooks on Thursday.

Oh, but that's not all - because it's thought that we'll be waving goodbye to Megsafe ports (where the charger plugs in), too; and presumably welcoming something far more modern and confusing in its place.

What this means for existing USBs and whether our current laptops will become invalid remains unclear, but get back to us on Thursday when we'll have all the details.
